ETD minus 60 minutes

Ol-awaru "the-beast-of-prey-spotted," is the way the Maasai refer to the leopard.  The leopard, in my view, is the most enigmatic of all the big cats, and I hope to see one of these amazing creatures on our trip to the Serengeti and Maasai-Mara in Tanzania.  The leopard is powerful, agile, cunning, ferocious, and just plain spectacular. What other big cat can carry prey twice its own weight straight up a tree!

The leopard is also very elusive (part of the enigma) and  I think our chances of spotting a leopard on this 10 day trip are about 1-in-10. But, by no means will I consider this trip a disappointment if I do not see a leopard. There is so much more to see and anything and everything we will observe and experience will be a treat. That's all for now. Need to finish packing and head to the airport.
